Greetings! Happiness, awareness, healing and understanding: these are things people seek when they come to therapy. Sometimes it’s good to have someone outside your personal sphere to talk to about your situation or your life. The therapy relationship facilitates personal growth through conversation, insight, a willingness to share and examine your story, and at times, humor. Each day, I consult with individuals to facilitate deeper understandings through conversations that are informed by the ideas of Narrative Therapy. In a safe environment we can discuss the issues that are of most importance, developing ways of looking at life that bring out the preferred meanings and wishes that people have for their lives. Over the past 20 years I have had the opportunity to meet with a diversity of people while addressing a wide range of concerns. Through these years, I have developed particular interest and expertise in working with issues such as eating disorders, stress and anxiety, relationships, loss and sadness, as well as parenting and developmental childhood issues. I can share what I know about these things but I also believe that people have the knowledge within themselves to access their own wisdom to move beyond problems to find other meanings and ways of living. I believe that people are not their problems – that problems are problems - and people can live new stories that empower them. |
